Academic Advisor

The Dean of the School appoints an Academic Advisor for each student upon their entrance, considering their opinions and following the regulations as follows:

Academic Advisor: KU faculty members who have published at least one paper as a lead author or corresponding author in SCI-level international journals, KCI journals or candidate journals (non-science field) over the past three years from of the day of appointment.

Interim Measures

  1. 1. Students whose affiliation was changed from the Department of Health Science to the Department of Bio-convergence Engineering on March 1, 2013 are subject to the internal regulation of the former or the latter as they choose. In this case, the major credits earned from the previous department are approved as major credits by the new department. If they have converted to the Integrated Master’s and Doctoral Program, they can acquire the credits needed for graduation of the Program, regardless of the required courses of the Department, and obtain a degree under the rules of Ph.D. Program Comprehensive Exam.
  2. Paragraph (4) of “1. Courses” herein is applied to students who entered on March 1, 2015 or later.
  3. (Interim measure) “5. Graduate School Comprehensive Examination” in this amended Internal Regulations is applied to students who entered on September 1, 2016 or later, and those who entered before March 1, 2016 can choose between the amended or previous Internal Regulations after consulting with an Academic Advisor.
  4. (Interim measure) “1. Courses to Complete” in the amended Internal Regulations is applied to students who entered on March 1, 2013 or later.
  5. When a student with an Academic Advisor from the Department of Health and Safety Convergence Science completes major courses from the Department of Health and Safety Convergence Science, these courses are approved as major credits by the Department of Bio-convergence Engineering.
