Domestic University Credit Exchange Program (Summer Semester 2026)
For Korea University Students Studying at Other Domestic Universities (Outgoing)

Eligibility
-
Regular Semester
-
Undergraduate students who have completed at least two semesters at Korea University and have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher by the exchange semester.

Transfer students are eligible after completing at least one semester at Korea University.
Seasonal Semester
-
Undergraduate students and students on leave of absence who have completed at least two semesters at Korea University and have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher by the exchange semester.

Transfer students are eligible after completing at least one semester at Korea University.

Students expected to graduate in August 2026 are not eligible to participate because credits earned during the exchange semester cannot be recognized.
※ GPA includes all grades, including deleted grades from retaken courses, F grades, and seasonal semester grades.

Application Period and Partner Universities

Information regarding credit exchange opportunities will be posted on the Credit Exchange Board as soon as official notices are received from partner universities (typically between April and May).

Application Procedure

Students must complete the Domestic University Credit Exchange Application Form (Korea University format) and submit it to their college/department administrative office.
-
Students seeking major credit recognition for a second major or additional major must first obtain confirmation from the relevant department chair and then obtain approval from the chair of their primary major before submitting the application.

College/department administrative offices will collect applications and related documents and submit them to the Academic Affairs Team.
※ Applications submitted through Sejong Campus administrative offices will be forwarded to the Office of Academic Affairs.

Exchange Quota
-
Within the capacity approved by the host university.
-
Generally, up to 10 students per university during regular semesters.
-
No quota restrictions for seasonal semesters.
-
Restrictions on Course Enrollment
-
Students may choose to earn credits either at Korea University or at a partner university.
-
The following courses must be completed at Korea University:
-
Required General Education
-
Core General Education
-
Teacher Education Courses (Educational Theory, Teaching Competency, Subject Education)
For major courses (including double majors, minors, and multiple majors), at least half of the required credits must be completed at Korea University.

Students may not take at another university a course equivalent to one already completed at Korea University.
-
Credits earned at another university may not be retaken at Korea University.

Credit Limits
The maximum number of credits that may be earned per semester through Korea University and partner universities combined shall follow Articles 48 and 49 of the Academic Regulations.

Course Registration and Course Add/Drop
-
Follow the procedures and schedule of the host university.

Cancellation of Credit Exchange
-
Submit the Domestic University Credit Exchange Cancellation Form (Korea University format) to the college/department administrative office.

Grade Evaluation and Credit Recognition
-
Grades will be evaluated according to the regulations of the host university, while credit recognition will follow Korea University regulations.
-
Courses not approved as major courses may be recognized as General Electives.
-
Students must apply for credit recognition within 60 days from the beginning of the first semester in which they register at Korea University after completing the exchange program.

Credit Recognition Procedure

Once grade reports are received from the host university, the college/department administrative office will notify the student.
-
Credits earned at another university will count toward total earned credits but will not be included in the student's GPA.
-
Students must complete the required portal system procedures, and the college/department administrative office must complete the electronic approval process.
-
Detailed instructions for submitting credit recognition requests through the Next-Generation Portal System will be announced later.

Tuition and Fees
-
Regular Semester
-
Tuition is paid to Korea University.
-
Seasonal Semester
-
Tuition is paid directly to the host university according to the courses taken.
